Dharmaram: Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar challenged BRS leaders to bring former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to the Assembly, stating that the Congress government was ready for a debate on corruption and development if they had the courage to face the discussion.

The Minister was addressing Congress workers and leaders from Dharmaram and Pegadapalli mandals at a programme held at Dharmaram on Sunday, marking 1,000 days of the Congress government.

Laxman Kumar alleged that the BRS government had deceived people from all sections during its two terms in office. He accused KCR of going back on his promise of making a Dalit the Chief Minister and failing to fulfil the assurance of providing three acres of land to Dalit families.

He also alleged that the BRS government failed to provide double-bedroom houses to the poor, while KCR and his family members built farmhouses.

Taking aim at former minister Koppula Eshwar, Laxman Kumar alleged that despite serving as Dharmapuri MLA, Government Whip and minister, he had failed to address the irrigation needs of farmers in the constituency. He said the promise to construct a reservoir at Pothipaka in the name of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy of Dharmapuri was also not fulfilled.

The Minister accused BRS working president KT Rama Rao of misleading people through false statements and alleged that KTR and former minister T Harish Rao were acting like “two accomplices.”

He said the Congress government had implemented several welfare measures, including interest-free loans for women, Indiramma houses, ration cards, fine rice distribution, free bus travel for women and free electricity up to 200 units.

Laxman Kumar assured that the Congress government would resolve people's problems and work for the overall development of Dharmapuri constituency.
