Tension prevailed at a BC meeting organised by the BRS in Peddapalli
Peddapalli: Tension prevailed at a BC meeting organised by the BRS in Peddapalli district headquarters on Saturday, with two groups of party workers reportedly coming to blows.
The meeting was organised under the leadership of former MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy. Some BC leaders and workers objected to the alleged exclusion of constituency leaders, including Ganta Ramulu Yadav and Dasari Usha, from the programme.
The disagreement reportedly escalated into a verbal confrontation, with members of the two groups allegedly exchanging blows and throwing chairs. Police reached the spot after receiving information and brought the situation under control before dispersing the groups.
Some BC leaders and workers alleged that Manohar Reddy’s unilateral approach was weakening the party’s position in the constituency. They claimed that despite the party’s electoral setback, the former MLA’s approach was alienating BC supporters.
They also alleged that while political parties across Telangana were highlighting BC issues, the community was being sidelined in Peddapalli. They warned that continued internal differences could further weaken the BRS in the constituency.
