Hyderabad: GHMC Department of Disaster Response, Enforcement, Vigilance completed one year on Tuesday.

GHMC is the second municipality to establish disaster response force, after Mumbai municipality with a fleet of vehicles and specialist teams in India.

The disaster response team, which is headed by its director Vishwajit Kampati, has 120 special staff with eight vehicles and necessary equipment to manage disasters.

The additional outsourced staff from electricity and transport departments of GHMC were specially trained and appointed in the disaster response force.

The staff were given attractive uniform, helmet and shoes along with other safety equipment.
