Government should offer suitable compensation to project-displaced farmers-TG BJP

Hyderabad: BJP chief also highlighted problems of farmers who lost land under the Palamuru and Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation projects, saying they have not been compensated to date.

Addressing the media after farmers from Buddaram village in Wanaparthy district met him and shared their plight of land eviction and meagre compensation from revenue officials. Rao said the state government has been illegally taking awaythe lands of the farmers, and called it unjust to forcibly offer only Rs. 15 lakh per acre with borewells, wells, and mango trees when farmers are asking for up to Rs. 20 lakh per acre. He said farmers who have lost their lands for SEZ in Kodangal were compensated suitably. He demanded the same package for the farmers of Buddaram. He assured that the Bharatiya Janata Party will stand by the farmers and displaced persons and fight on their behalf.

He also expressed deep condolences over the tragic incident involving the death of infants at the RIMS hospital at Adilabad. he disclosed that party MLA Payal Shanker has already visited the site to assess the situation. He emphasised that the government is responsible for regularly inspecting air conditioners, oxygen machines, and hospital equipment, and for ensuring precautions against short circuits and power fluctuations. He demanded that the government immediately investigate the incident and take strict action against anyone responsible for human error.
