Hyderabad: Marri Channa Reddy statue to be reinstated

Hyderabad: City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan along with Khairthabad MLA Sri Danam Nagender and former MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy laid foundation for reinstation of former chief minister Marri Channa Reddy's statue at Nagarjuna Circle in Panjagutta on Wednesday.
It may be recalled that the statue situated at the busy Nagarjuna Circle Road in Punjagutta has been shifted by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for realignment of the junction a few days ago.
A total of Rs 48 lakh has been sanctioned for reinstation of the statue, footpath development and lane markings at the tri-junction. The government also sanctioned Rs 23 crore under Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) scheme for construction of a steel bridge and road widening works at both sides of Nagarjuna Circle. The steel bridge work is on the final stage of completion.
Khairthabad Zonal Commissioner Praveenya, Executive Engineer Shivanand and DE Chaitanya were present.
