A newly-wed man attempted suicide on the premises of Penpahad police station in Suryapet district by consuming pesticide on Thursday.
Penpahad (Suryapet): A newly-wed man attempted suicide on the premises of Penpahad police station in Suryapet district by consuming pesticide on Thursday.
According to sources, Naveen Reddy, a native of TK Pahad of Suryapet mandal was in love with Vijaya Laxmi of Anajipuram village of Penpahad mandal in the district for a long time. The two, who are majors, tied the knot a week ago against their parents' wishes.
Soon after learning about the marriage, Vijaya Laxmi's parents lodged a complaint against Naveen Reddy at Penpahad police station. After inquiry, the police sent the girl to her parent's home. Dejected over cops sending his wife to her home, Naveen attempted suicide on police station premises by consuming pesticide on Thursday early hours. Alerted police immediately shifted him to district government hospital in Suryapet where he is undergoing treatment.
