On Wednesday, Panchayati Raj sammelanam was held at Bhooma Reddy Convention at Borgam in which ZP Chairman Vittal Rao, Panchayati Raj Department Secretary Sandeep Kumar, District Collector C Narayana Reddy, MLC Akula Lalitha, district forest officer Sunil, additional collectors Chandrasekhar and Latha, DROs Venkatayya, Gopi Ram and Srinivas, ZP vice-chairperson Rajitha, district panchayat officer Jayasudha, Transco SE Sudarshan, Additional Collectors, ZPTCs, MPP presidents, sarpanches, MPTCs and district officers participated.

The Minister said that development of villages is possible only through cleanliness and greenery. Palle Pragathi is a thought-provoking programme that should be implemented in all villages. The sarpanches, elected by the people through the newly introduced Panchayati Raj Act, have been provided with powers, responsibilities, funds and plans for the development of villages in such a manner that is nowhere exists in the country, he stated.

Prashanth Reddy told the sarpanches that the government has entrusted them with funds necessary for the development of the villages. They were told to continue this programme and make it a success by asking the public representatives to take the responsibility of developing the villages. He called upon the people to understand Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's ambitions and move accordingly. "We were elected by the people. Hence, we should complete the tasks that are beneficial to the public and should implement schemes for the public welfare," he stated.
