Parties yet to decide ZP chairperson candidates

The local body elections will be held in three phases in the four districts of Mancherial, Komaram Bheem-Asifabad, Nirmal and Adilabad.
The election notification was issued on April 22 and the polling will be held on May 6 for 212 ZPTC and 2,365 MPTC seats in the State. The nomination process for the first phase of elections was completed.
All the parties are keen on grabbing the ZP chairperson post and hunting for a winning horse, who has a strong hold on the area. Adilabad ZP post was reserved for ST General, Mancherial ZP reserved for SC women, Asifabad ZP was reserved for ST women and Nirmal zilla parishad was reserved for General Women.
TRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had announced Allola Divya Reddy, daughter-in-law of Endowments Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy, for Nirmal ZP chairperson post; and former MLA
Kova Lakshmi for Asifabad ZP chairman post.
Recently party working president KT Rama Rao had announced Nalla Bhagya for Mancherial ZP chairperson post, over the request of Chennur MLA Balka Suman. Bhagya, wife of former Chennur MLA Nallala Odelu, will contest ZPTC elections from Kotapalli under Chennur Assembly segment.
As the TRS had announced the name of Kova Lakshmi, who belongs to Adivasi Gond community, for Asifabad segment, one of the two segments reserved for ST women, the leaders of Lambada community are trying hard for Adilabad ZP chairman post. Ticket aspirants from Narnoor - Banoth Gajanand and Rathod Janardhan, who is working in survey land records department – are eyeing Adilabad ZP chairperson seat. Anil Jadhav from Neradigonda has been making efforts for Adilabad ZP
chairperson seat.
While Allola Divya Reddy is ready to contest for Nirmal zilla parishad chairperson seat. Former MLA Kova Lakshmi is gearing up to contest from Asifabad reserved for ST women.
Meanwhile, the Congress is busy in selecting right candidates for ZP chairman post. So far, the party had announced the names of Charu Latha for Adilabad zilla parishad chairperson seat from Utnoor. Candidates for Nirmal, Mancherial and
Asifabad districts are yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders are competing for ZPTC seat sharing and the process of selections of ZP chairman candidates is in verification stage now.
