Kamareddy: RTC workers staged a dharna in front of the bus stand in Kamareddy headquarters on Wednesday, demanding the government to address their demands. When the workers tried to lay seize to the bus depot, police intervened and took some of the leaders into custody. This led to tense situation for some time.

The workers raised anti-government slogans. Some RTC workers managed to get inside the bus depot and staged a dharna. They were arrested by the police. Other RTC workers blocked the police vehicle from taking the arrested workers to police station.

The police arrested all the workers and shifted them to police station. About 150 RTC workers were arrested and taken to Devunipalli and Kamareddy police stations. Public unions and student unions condemned the arrest of RTC workers. They requested the government to call the RTC workers for talks and to address their demands immediately.

RTC workers try to barge into bus depot

Nizamabad: After continuing the strike for 33 days, the RTC workers in Nizamabad tried to barge into the bus depots in Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Banswada and Bodhan on Wednesday. Tension prevailed when the police thwarted their attempts and jostling took place between them.

The RTC workers continued their dharna at Dharna Chowk in Nizamabad. Eight workers have joined duty in Nizamabad region afraid of the deadline set by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. As many as 3,200 workers are on strike. The police arranged heavy security in front of the depots.
