Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy
Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy says the government has issued seven orders so far to address 22-A land issues, following assurances made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Speaking to the media on Friday, the Minister said pending applications under GO 59 for plots of up to 500 square yards would be resolved within a month. Memo No. 48030 has been issued to District Collectors with instructions on processing the applications.
He said decisions under GO 59 would be made strictly in accordance with the rules, with safeguards to prevent a recurrence of earlier irregularities. Cases involving conveyance deeds already issued would also be examined thoroughly.
A high-level committee was formed within 24 hours of the Chief Minister’s assurance, Mr Srinivas Reddy said. The government is fast-tracking action on 10 to 12 issues linked to 22-A land, with memos issued in line with GO 118 and GO 76.
The Minister added that houses, plots and flats could be registered even if they fall under the 22-A category, provided they have valid approvals from the GHMC, HMDA, DTCP or municipal authorities.
The government is also working to resolve Urban Land Ceiling applications that have been pending for decades. Mr Srinivas Reddy said it would provide a solution for registering patta lands where the NALA conversion process has not been completed.
