Tribals encouraged to utilise Prajavani prog

Wanaparthy: “Tribals should raise their grievances through the Prajavani platform. Officials should ensure timely resolution of the petitions submitted by tribals in Prajavani,” said Jatoth Hussain, member of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (STs) on Tuesday.

“The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (STs) stands at the forefront to ensure justice for tribals whenever and wherever they face problems,” he added.

Hussain was received by additional collector (revenue) Vinod Kumar who welcomed him at the Khilla Ghanapuram mandal headquarters. He met tribal residents at Eniki thanda and inquired about the issues they were facing.

Hussain noted they had brought to his attention issues concerning 460 acres—known as ‘Raja’s land’—spread across 27 thandas in the mandal. He assured to examine the details regarding the issue and provide a solution within two months.

He emphasised that the Atrocities Act should not be misused but rather invoked only in cases involving genuine grievances and injustices; cautioned against diluting the significance of the law by filing atrocity cases for minor disputes.

Noting the nationwide popularity of the Banjara language, he urged people to elect leaders who work for the public good. Public representatives should dedicate time to understanding the people’s problems and strive to resolve them.

Later, the commission members visited Savai Gudem thanda in Wanaparthy mandal and inquired about the difficulties faced by residents due to lack of road connectivity. They discussed potential measures to resolve the issue with villagers and assured the issue would be brought to attention

of officials.
