Warangal: Even though Warangal is the second largest city in Telangana, the development it witnessed is damp squib, BJP Warangal Lok Sabha candidate Chintha Samba Murthy said, during his electioneering here on Thursday.

"It's difficult to understand why Warangal city is languishing without any trace of development, this despite funds from the Central government flowing in abundantly," he said.

Further, Murthy accused the people's representatives of the ruling party of turning a blind eye towards developmental activity in the region. He alleged that the TRS government had misused and diverted the Central government funds sanctioned for the implementation of various welfare and developmental programmes.

The locals need to elect a BJP MP so that to ensure proper utilisation of funds sanctioned by the Centre, Samba Murthy said. "I will ensure the development of Warangal if people elect me as their MP," he said.

BJP Warangal Urban and Rural district presidents Rao Padma Reddy and Edla Ashok Reddy, senior leaders Vannala Sriramulu, Chintakula Sunil, Rao Amarender Reddy, Kusuma Sathish, M Suresh, P Rajender, K Kumar, B Hari, M Vinod and K Ranjith were among others present. The leaders campaigned Warangal Fort, O City and vegetable market areas.
