NEW DELHI: According to a study, the US administration which is led by Donald Trump-led is making life difficult for the techies in India. A higher number of H-1B visas have been rejected in the third quarter of 2019-2020.

As per the analysis, it has been seen that the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is denying a higher volume of H-1B petitions.

The study of The National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) has indicated that denial rates for H-1B visa petitions, required by employees who are working overseas in the US, inflated from 6 per cent in fiscal year 2015 to 24 per cent in the third quarter of fiscal year 2019.

The new analysis shows that the rejection of petition applies to employees working at all leading companies in the US, mainly the information technology companies. NFAP analysis covered 27 companies, from which 12 companies belong to the information technology sector.

Experts have said that such a sharp increase in H-1B visa rejections could affect established technology companies.
