One of the busiest suburbs comprising commercial complexes and educational institutions, the Chintal division (128) covers major areas that include Baba Jagjeevan Ramnagar colony, Chandra Nagar Colony, GIRI Nagar, Gurumurthy Nagar, Shiva Nagar, Dwarkapuri Colony and Mahendra Nagar. This women (BC) reserved division with 34,656 voters has been represented by corporator Rashida Begum since 2016 after she won the GHMC elections on TRS ticket with 10,319 votes against the nearest rival Radhika Kay of TDP who received 5,556 votes.

The division grapples with lack of civic amenities that include bad condition of internal roads, sewage overflow and frequent power cuts. According to locals, the internal roads in this ward are in a very pathetic condition and it is one of the common issues faced by the locals. In several areas like Chandra Nagar, Gurumurthy Nagar and Bhagat Singh Colony internal lanes were dug up for laying sewerage pipeline, but the works were left incomplete without levelling the roads. There are several potholes on these roads causing inconvenience to the commuters and pedestrians.

In colonies like Chandra Nagar and Bhagat Singh the drainage pipelines are outdated as a result a little amount of rain inundates the roads and localities making the situation worse for the residents. Due to the poor sewerage system, the drain water overflows and gets accumulated on the roads and also enters the houses.

Issues expressed by the locals "The leaders visit our colony only at the time of elections or whenever there is a disaster. The main problem in our colony is that there are frequent power cuts. The two transformers in the colony are not upgraded properly due to which the power fluctuation remains a regular phenomenon," said J Ramesh of Mahendra Nagar.

"Several written representations were made to the GHMC officials and local corporator about the drainage issues but no concrete steps have been taken up in this regard. Even during the recent floods many houses in our area were affected but no relief help was provided by the GHMC," said Adinarayana Reddy, a resident of Chintal.
