Amaravati: Replying to a question asked by TDP MP Kesineni Srinivas in Lok Sabha, Ministry for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai cleared that Capital city of a State is decided by the respective State Government. Central Government has no role in it.
Earlier Srinivas has tabled a question that whether there is any specific procedure for selection of the capital city of a State and to provide details mentioning the details of the manner in which Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Uttarakhand chose their capital cities.
