AP cabinet approves 12 agenda items

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, approved 12 key agenda items, including the APHIMS project, gratuity for ASHA workers, healthcare upgrades, tribal education initiatives, and a new policy for foreign universities.

The AP Cabinet meeting has concluded with key decisions were approved during the meeting held today (Wednesday) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The Cabinet gave its approval for 12 agenda items.
A proposal to establish the Horticulture Information and Management System (APHIMS) was approved; the Cabinet greenlit the project with an outlay of ₹20.62 crore, to be implemented over a period of 72 months.
The Cabinet also approved the payment of gratuity to eligible ASHA workers who pass away while in service, deciding on a gratuity of ₹5,000 for every year of service, subject to a maximum limit of ₹1.50 lakh.
The AP Cabinet approved the upgrading of the 30-bed Community Health Centre in Repalle into a 100-bed Area Hospital. It sanctioned ₹58.42 crore for this upgrade and approved the creation of 66 additional posts. Ratification was granted for the guidelines and administrative sanctions regarding the 'Thalliki Vandanam' scheme for the 2026-27 period. Additionally, the Cabinet ratified orders to increase diet charges in welfare hostels and residential schools. The Cabinet approved the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for tribal students at Marikavalasa in Visakhapatnam, specifically greenlighting an intensive residential coaching center for IIT-JEE and NEET. Approval was granted to reclassify 1.69 acres of land for a guest house intended for officials of the Kuppam Area Development Authority. The Cabinet ratified orders issued for the regularization of encroachments on unobjectionable government *poramboke* (wasteland) in NTR district. It also approved the transfer of 7.66 acres of government land to the Endowments Department for temple development at Pathuru in YSR Kadapa district.
The Cabinet approved the reclassification of 7 acres of land for a boys' residential school and hostel in Kondapi, Prakasam district. Approval was given for amendments to the AP Education Act, 1982, and for a new policy (Policy-2026) regarding the establishment of campuses by foreign higher education institutions and private universities. Additionally, the AP Cabinet approved a comprehensive policy covering the establishment, incentives, and facilities for such foreign educational institutions and private university campuses.
