Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the rainfall deficit situation in the state. He gave instructions to the officials concerning declaring the drought-affected mandals as on October 1, pointing out the need of taking a scientific view in identifying them.
He asked them to take steps for the prevention of loss of crop and directed to submit monthly reports on the status of the rainfall deficit to the Central Government.
Naidu also asked them to conduct field level assessment of crop condition for aiding farmers and advised the officials to ensure that horticultural crops are not affected due to the effect of El Niño.
