Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday inaugurated Rs 200-crore ABIS Proteins poultry processing plant and APIIC-developed MSME Park at Pogurupalle in Gudupalle mandal on the first day of his three-day visit to Kuppam constituency. The projects are expected to create large-scale employment and strengthen local economy.
ABIS Proteins processing unit has been set up on 30.75 acres with an investment of Rs 200 crore. The Chief Minister inspected the facility and reviewed its operations and handed over appointment letters to candidates selected through company’s job fair. Commercial production at the plant is scheduled to begin later this month.
The unit is expected to generate employment for around 1,400 people, including 700 direct and 700 indirect jobs. In the first phase, offer letters have already been issued to 300 to 400 candidates. The project is also expected to benefit local poultry farmers through assured market access and contract farming opportunities while boosting feed supply, transportation and other allied sectors.
The CM also inaugurated MSME Park developed by APIIC over 44.58 acres at Pogurupalle. He directed officials to begin allotting the park’s 167 industrial plots from this month. The park has been provided with integrated infrastructure to facilitate establishment of micro, small and medium enterprises and promote industrial growth in the region.
Later, the CM inaugurated a Rs 28-crore rooftop solar project that will benefit 7,489 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families. He also dedicated five RESCO power substations, built at a cost of Rs 25 crore, at Kanamanapalli, Gangapuram, T Samudram, Krishnanagar and Balla villages.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Naidu said the government was committed to the development of Kuppam through industrial, agricultural and service sector growth. He urged people to make use of the opportunities being created by the government.
Referring to the success of horticulture in Lingala mandal of Pulivendula, he said people there had utilised available opportunities effectively, resulting in a per capita income of Rs 7.3 lakh. Calling upon youth to become entrepreneurs, Naidu said they should not remain job seekers alone but emerge as job creators by improving their skills and adopting innovative thinking.
