Depression likely again in Bay of Bengal, rains predicted in AP, Telangana
The Meteorological Department has announced the likelihood of another depression forming in the Bay of Bengal. It stated that a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over the North Andaman Sea on the 12th of this month. This system is likely to intensify gradually, turning into a low-pressure area over the Andaman Sea by the 13th. Subsequently, it is projected to strengthen into a depression over the southern Bay of Bengal and its surrounding areas by the 15th.
Meanwhile, the department indicated that rainfall is expected in several parts of the state. Moderate rains accompanied by lightning are likely in isolated areas of Alluri and Polavaram districts today, while light, scattered rains with lightning are expected in the remaining coastal districts.
On the other hand, temperature readings across the state show highs of 38 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday in Tirupati and Kadapa districts. Moderate rainfall was also reported in various locations across Bapatla, NTR, Konaseema, Eluru, and Alluri districts.
Furthermore, the Southwest Monsoon is gradually withdrawing; the Meteorological Department stated that it is likely to retreat from North and Central India within the next two to three days. Greater clarity regarding rainfall in the state is expected once the low-pressure area and the subsequent depression form in the Bay of Bengal.
