APPSC Group-2 prelims examination was held peacefully at 53 centres in Tirupati Sub-division on Sunday from 10am to 12.30 pm without hindrance.

Tirupati: APPSC Group-2 prelims examination was held peacefully at 53 centres in Tirupati Sub-division on Sunday from 10am to 12.30 pm without hindrance. Along with APPSC officials, Tirupati Sub-Collector Dr Mahesh Kumar has inspected some examination centres in the temple city. Totally, 21,200 candidates appeared for the Group-2 prelims examination across Rayalaseema region.

Tirupati revenue officials have made all the needed arrangements for conducting Group-2 exam. For the convenience of the students, special bus services were arranged by the APSRTC Tirupati regional authorities. The number of Group 2 exam centres in Tirupati Sub-division: Tirupati city-32, Renigunta-2, Chandragiri-1,Srikalahasti -14 and Puttur 4. In Tirupati city alone, more than 10,000 candidates were present to write the Group 2 prelims.

At few centres officials did not allow the candidates who have come late to exam centres after 9.30am. Students were asked to keep their belongings like mobile phones, bags, books etc at specially set up deposit rooms at the examination centres.

In this connection Tirupati Urban Police and Chittoor district police have deployed large number of police personnel for security at Tirupati, Puttur and Srikalahasti examination centres and imposed Section 144 as precautionary measure. Tirupati Additional SP Anil Babu ( Law and Order) inspected some centres and interacted with examination officials on arrangements.

The officials brought the question papers to the examination centres with the escort of armed police personnel. In this connection all the Xerox centres were kept closed on Sunday morning 8 a.m to 1 p.m near the exam centres.
