Kakinada gears up for CM's visit tomorrow

Kakinada: The city is gearing up for the visit of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 2, where he will launch Sachivalayam in Karapa. Senior officials and Ministers held a meeting to review preparations that include preparing a helipad, open ground to hold Grama Sabha.

The biggest challenge faced by the officials is the intermittent rain that is lashing the East Godavari district. Officials are particularly worried as heavy rain during the visit could affect the programmes. However, this has not dampened the spirit of the officials and party workers who are readying for a big welcome party to the Chief Minister.

As per tentative schedule, the CM is said to arrive at 2 pm and drive straight to the meeting venue, close to the panchayat building which is also getting a makeover. In view of possibility of rain, officials have decided to erect temporary structures with metal sheet roofs. Adequate quantity of cement ash is to be strewn on the ground so that it can absorb some rainwater.

District Collector D Muralidhar Reddy briefed the ministers about the arrangements. SP Nayem Azmi briefed the bandobast arrangements. Meanwhile the security officials discussed with the Collector and SP on the movement of the CM's convoy. MPs Vanga Geeta, Chintha Anuradha, YSRCP leaders M Mohan, Paparayudu, DPO Nageshwara Nayak, Judge CEO Jyoti, DSP K Kumar and Rural CI Muralikrishna were present at the review meeting.
