Land records purification by May next: Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose

Ongole: Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose on Tuesday said the revenue records would be purified to end litigation. Subhash Chandra Bose along with Minister for Housing Ch Sriranganatha Raju was holding a review meeting with Revenue officials here.
Abolition of Munisf and Karanam system in 1983 had led to rise of controversies. The Revenue Department was facing problem in registration of land. Not less than 70 per cent of petitions received at Spadana meetings related to land disputes, he said.
He announced that the government had been using a technology as a pilot project in Jaggayyapet for purification of revenue records, he said. The purification of land records would be completed by May 31 next year, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the officials had identified 11,0316 poor families in the district. They would be given house sites. Sriranganatha Raju said the government was spending Rs 11,000 crore for housing in the state.
Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, MLAs Manugunta Mahidhar Reddy, K Nagarjuna Reddy, Burra Madhusudana Yadav, Anna Rambabu, Gottipati Ravikumar, secretary of housing Ajay Jain, CCLA secretary Chakravarthy, collector Dr Pola Bhaskara and other officials also participated in the programme.
