Ongole: The Central government has taken a one sided decision to introduce and pass the National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill and jeopardised the future of practicing doctors in the country, said Dr P Gangadhar, vice-president of the Andhra Pradesh chapter Indian Medical Association.

He said that the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has staged many types of protests against the NMC Bill throughout the state, but their efforts go in vain. He said that the medical and health field will face a lot of problems in the future and will be in jeopardy in coming days. He expressed concern that the future of lakh of medical students is uncertain due to the bill.

The Indian Medical Association members including the AP secretary Dr Phanidhar, Dr Srihari, Dr Jayasankar, Dr Karunamurthy and others also participated in the meeting held on Sunday and discussed the passage of the NMC Bill and its effects on the medical and health field in the state.
