VIJAYAWADA: As part of ZPTC and MPTC elections, NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha inspected the polling booth at RCM School in Bodapadu village of Nunna, under Vijayawada Rural Mandal, on Thursday. During his visit, he interacted with voters and enquired about the facilities being provided to persons with disabilities to ensure their convenient participation in the electoral process.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that approximately 40 per cent polling had been recorded across the district by 1 p.m. He urged all eligible voters to exercise their franchise and contribute to strengthening democracy, emphasising that voting was not only a constitutional right but also a civic responsibility.

He observed that voter turnout in rural areas was comparatively higher than in urban areas and appealed to more people to come forward and participate in the democratic process.

The Collector also appealed to voters and political party leaders to strictly adhere to the guidelines issued by the State Election Commission. He warned that strict action would be initiated against those who violated election rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, he stated that the MPTC and ZPTC elections were being conducted peacefully across the NTR district. He stressed the importance of maintaining law and order and ensuring that the elections were conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
