Ongole: The women leaders and workers of the Prakasam district Telugu Desam Party announced support to the women agitating for the continuation of Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh and offered special prayers on Sunday, as part of the International Women's Day celebrations.

The TDP district women president Ravula Padmaja, T Anantamma, Arla Venkataratnam, and other leaders and cadre performed special puja at the Sivalayam in support of the women from the Amaravati and prayed to the god to give sense to the chief minister and reprimand him to continue Amaravati as the only capital of the state and shun the three capitals idea.

They condemned the alleged remarks of the YSR Congress Party leaders that the agitating women are paid artistes. They said that the true Women's Day would be celebrated only after the wish of the women farmers in the capital area becomes true and Amaravati is announced again as the only capital.
