Vijayawada: ITC’s Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division (PSPD) has launched two new premium paper products under its Cart Lumina brand — Regal 75 GSM and Blue 70 GSM — at a programme held at a hotel here on Tuesday.
ITC PSPD divisional chief executive Rajesh Ponnuru, executive vice-president (HR) Shankar Bandopadhyay, regional manager Davinder Singh and Andhra Paper Merchants Association state president YL Kantha Rao formally unveiled the new products.
The company representatives highlighted the quality of the newly launched papers, which offer 95 brightness, and appealed to paper merchants to promote the premium products in the market.
Speaking on the occasion, Kantha Rao said it was disappointing that ITC’s paper mill had gone to Telangana following the bifurcation of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. However, he noted that the manufacturing of the products being launched was being undertaken in Andhra Pradesh.
He appealed to ITC’s chief executive and management to consider establishing a paper manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh, stating that large industries such as ITC could contribute significantly to the state’s economic growth and industrial development. Kantha Rao said the State government was expediting industrial approvals through its single-window clearance system and expressed hope that ITC would consider setting up a paper industry in Andhra Pradesh.
He also expressed confidence that the newly launched premium papers, with their 95-brightness specification, would receive a good response from customers and traders. Representatives of Srinivas of Sri Durga Enterprises, Ramakrishna of Seetharama Agencies and others attended the programme.
