Rajamahendravaram: Kosuri Vemana Venkata Satya Veerendra, a Class X student of SKVT Government High School of Rajamahendravaram, has secured first place in the 48-50 kg weight category boxing event at the School Games Federation of India district-level meet held in Kakinada.
Physical education director Surya Shankar Rao said Veerendra had been selected to represent the district at the state-level boxing competitions to be held shortly at Pithapuram.
Urban MEO MVM Subrahmanyam, school in-charge headmaster Subbarao, coach Shankar, physical education teacher B. Kalpana and drawing teacher Dr Puppala Bapiraju congratulated Veerendra in a meeting held at the school on Tuesday.
