Trekking programme held at Horsley Hills ahead of World Tourism Day

Madanapalle: A trekking programme was organised at Horsley Hills in Annamayya district on Friday as part of World Tourism Day celebrations to be held on September 27. The programme was conducted by Annamayya district tourism department, with students of MITS College in Madanapalle taking part enthusiastically. The trekking began at Srivari Padalu and continued up to Galibanda Eco Park at Horsley Hills.

Around 80 students and organisers participated in the trek and enjoyed natural surroundings of Horsley Hills. The programme was aimed at encouraging young people to take an interest in nature, creating awareness about the importance of tourist destinations and promoting local tourist attractions. District Tourism Officer M Nagabhushanam said the department was organising various programmes at prominent tourist spots in the district as part of World Tourism Day. These activities were being conducted to create greater awareness about the district’s tourist destinations and support the development of tourism in the region. He said the tourism department would continue efforts to promote local attractions and encourage more visitors to explore the tourist destinations in Annamayya district.
