Young Advocate’s Compass book released
Vijayawada: Advocates should remain lifelong students, spend maximum time in court practice and continuously improve their legal and technical knowledge, said Y Nagi Reddy, former Public Prosecutor and advocate, while speaking at the release of the book “The Young Advocate’s Compass” at the Book Festival Society here on Sunday.
Nagi Reddy, who was the chief guest, formally released the book published by the Advocates’ Society for Professional Integrity, Research and Education (ASPIRE).
He said lawyers who progress with patience and uphold professional values would excel in their profession. Advocates should uphold the Rule of Law, protect the rights of their clients and maintain professional ethics to earn respect in the legal fraternity, he added.
“The Young Advocate’s Compass” contains articles and practical guidance from practising advocates, judicial officers and academicians on various aspects of legal practice. The book covers professional ethics, presentation of arguments, cross-examination, legal drafting, civil and criminal practice and other essential skills required by young advocates. D Kasim Saheb, advocate, introduced the book and explained its purpose and importance for young and upcoming advocates beginning their professional careers.
Senior Advocate Chittarvu Raghu, advocate Nalluri Madhava Rao, Prof Ch Divakar Babu, Dean, Velagapudi Durgamba Siddhartha Law School, and advocate P Rama Raju were the guests of honour. On the occasion, ASPIRE president Vennapu Sudhakara Rao and Founder-cum-General Secretary Veerla Sateesh Kumar announced the organisation’s future initiative, “ASPIRE–2030.”
Under the initiative, ASPIRE plans to prepare practical manuals for Trial Court advocates covering civil and criminal litigation and provide video lectures and articles by eminent legal personalities as part of its Continuing Legal Education (CLE) initiatives. Veerla Sateesh Kumar said Continuing Legal Education would remain one of ASPIRE’s core objectives, with a focus on providing accessible and practical educational resources and supporting the professional development of advocates.
