Chief Minister YS Jagan has taken another crucial step for the poor and middle class in Andhra Pradesh. Another idea was to make the dream of owning a home for the urban poor. The CM held a review meeting with the officers at the camp office and made several suggestions to the authorities and key decisions were taken. In the past in towns and cities during the YSR regime it has been planned to give flats to middle-class people at low prices in the name of Rajiv Swagruha. Now the idea is to give plots at a lower price with a clearer title, in a non-controversial way, instead of flats.
The government itself came up with the idea of developing lay-outs and preparing plots and allocating them to the beneficiaries. Those who buy land from private individuals have many concerns and fears of whether there are proper permits and permissions. The CM was of the view that such concerns and fears would not exist if the government took over the development of lay-outs. He said that without controversy, home spaces with clear titles would be made available to middle-class people at low cost by the government for non - profit. The idea is to provide these plots to the beneficiaries through the lottery. The idea came with the quest to do something for the middle-class people as well. Establishment of Mangalagiri - Tadepalli Municipal Corporation with Mangalagiri and Tadepalli Municipalities. The CM directed the authorities to take steps to expedite the approval of DPR with Rs.1000 crore in this regard. It is suggested to make these lay outs innovative and beautiful. The officials were also directed to focus on other issues including underground drainage in Jagananna colonies.
