Hyd leads metros with 9% hiring growth
Mumbai: White-collar hiring grew 2 per cent year-on-year in September, led by strong demand for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) roles and the auto sector, according to the Naukri JobSpeak report.
The Naukri JobSpeak Index rose to 3,053 in September from 3,002 a year earlier. The monthly index tracks hiring activity based on new job postings and recruiter searches on Naukri.com's platform.
AI/ML hiring grew 20 per cent during the month, while the auto sector recorded 11 per cent growth. BPO/ITES and Global Capability Centre (GCC) hiring increased 4 per cent each. Hiring in Insurance, Retail, Banking and Financial Services and Real Estate remained largely stable. However, IT/Software Services, Pharma/Biotech and FMCG hiring declined 4 per cent each, while Healthcare fell 3 per cent.
Hospitality and Travel hiring declined 11 per cent and Education saw an 18 per cent fall.
Demand remained stronger for experienced professionals. Hiring grew 5 per cent for those with 8-12 years of experience, 7 per cent for the 13-16 years band and 5 per cent for professionals with more than 16 years of experience.
