Jagjeet Sandhu returns as Bhola in ‘Oye Bhole Oye 2’; trailer out

The sequel brings back Jagjeet Sandhu as Bhola, a character he has played in Oye Bhole Oye in 2024. The first film was commercially hit and received very positive attention from the audience.

The trailer of Oye Bhole Oye 2 has been released, with the Punjabi film set to arrive in cinemas on June 12, 2026.

This time, his involvement goes beyond acting as Sandhu has directed the film too . He has also produced the film along with Kv Dhillon. Written by Gurpreet Bhullar, The film stars Jagjeet Sandhu, Soumyaa and Dheeraj Kumar.

The story appears to return to familiar ground. Bhola is once again at the centre of things, a man tied closely to his village and the land he calls home. But the challenge around him seems bigger now. A company wants control of village land, and Bhola appears unwilling to give in. The conflict becomes more personal when even people around him begin supporting the move.

For Sandhu, returning to Bhola was not simply about revisiting an old role. “I never really moved on from him after the first film,” he said. “Somewhere in my mind, his story always felt unfinished.” Taking on direction changed the process. “As an actor, your focus stays limited to your own role,” Sandhu said. “As a director, your attention shifts. You begin thinking about the whole world of the film.” The sequel arrives at a busy time in his career.

Over the last few years, Sandhu has appeared in projects such as Paatal Lok and The Diplomat, apart from Punjabi films including Tufang and Dakuaan Da Munda.

Most of the part of Oye Bhole Oye 2 was filmed in and around Mohali. Several scenes in the film were also filmed in villages located across Punjab during different phases of the shoot. The team completed filming earlier this year after wrapping up back-to-back schedules conducted over the past few months.

Its music has started releasing too. One song from the film, titled Flow, has already been released. The track has been sung by Sultan.
