‘Kalki’ sequel regular shoot to begin in Oct, targets mid-2027 wrap

The much awaited sequel to Kalki 2898 AD will be starting its regular shooting in October as the director Nag Ashwin is all set to take the ambitious sci-fi mythological saga to the next level. The makers are targeting to wrap the production by mid-2027. Starring Prabhas in the lead, the sequel saw the legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in prominent roles. It was produced by Ashwini Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies banner as the film aims to expand the world created in the first film on a much bigger scale.

As per the latest update, the actor Prabhas and other star cast members are expected to commence the shoot from October. The production team has been all set with an elaborate plan as Nag Ashwin gears up to start the filming of the sequel after months of the pre-production work.

The first film Kalki 2898 AD became a commercial success and found critical acclamation for its larger-than-life world building, visuals, and the grand narration of the story. Apart from that, the film has also bagged accolades at the National Film Awards, which created more anticipation for the sequel.

Now, with the result of the first film, there has been high expectation for the second installment of Kalki as the filmmaker Nag Ashwin has been working on the film’s treatment, characters, and the world-building process to expand the universe to scale new heights.

As the pre-production work has completed, the filmmaker is now all set to take the project to the next level as the shoot schedule will be important in taking the project to the floors. Nag Ashwin is aiming to wrap up the production by mid-2027. Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Nag Ashwin, along with Vyjayanthi Movies, have made this Kalki sequel one of the most awaited projects for the viewers in the country.
