Even as filmmakers keep their fingers crossed to resume film production activities post lockdown, actors are under pressure to do their hit to ease producers' burden. It is a known fact that several movie productions were halted midway because of the sudden lockdown announced by the government after the virus infections went up in the country. So producers who were betting big on movie releases in summer to get return on their investments (ROI) are a worried lot now. Thanks to the coronavirus lockdown, all movie releases are postponed indefinitely as there is no news yet on when the theaters will reopen.

Actors too have come forward to help lessen the financial strain on producers. First it was Kollywood composer and actor Vijay Anthony who took the lead by announcing that he was willing to take a 25% pay cut for his next three movies that are lined up.

Now, Kollywood actor Mahat has followed suit too. He has stated that he is willing to take pay cut to help producers. Have a look at his statement.

Here's a look at Mahat's statement on his willingness to take a salary cut to help the producers.

Harish Kalyan, Vijay Antony sir and many others have decided to take a pay-cut because of the ongoing CoronaVirus pandemic. I am really happy to hear this. I've been a part of the industry for over 10 years now. I've done a lot of characters and now, I'll be playing the lead in 2 films. Many people are now badly affected because of the lockdown and the most affected people are the producers and the distributors. If they all discuss and decide on a particular salary, I'm ready to take it even if it is 20%, 50% or 70% lesser. I'm ready to take the pay-cut.

Mahat was seen in Jilla and Mankatha. Stay tuned for updates.
