Tollywood’s ace actress Rashmika Mandanna’s title and first look poster from the legendary singer MS Subbulakshmi’s biopic made us go aww as she completely stole the show with her transformation. The makers also launched the movie officially yesterday in Chennai on the occasion of MS Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary. On the other hand, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan who graced the event as the special guest clapped for the first shot on the stage itself.

Rashmika Mandanna who mostly tried to resemble MS Subbulakshmi’s young appeal looked amazing in a blue saree. She was also happy to be part of this biopic and expressed her gratitude towards the makers and the director for picking her for this legendary singer’s role.

Well, Rashmika Mandanna also met MS Subbulakshmi’s family today and thanked them for their unconditional support. Even the makers shared a small video on their Twitter page and treated the netizens.

This post reads, “A beautiful moment before the beginning of M.S. A Legacy On Screen. Team #MSBiopic meets the family of #MSSubbulakshmi Amma with love, respect, and heartfelt gratitude, thanking them for their unconditional support”.

On the other hand, MS Subbulakshmi’s biopic director Gowtam Tinnanuri’s audition process has also grabbed the attention. He simply didn’t invite anyone to the studio instead he first considered natural beauty Sai Pallavi for this role. But her commitment towards Ramayana movie made her step out from this project. Later, even Rukmini Vasanth’s name was highlighted in the media. But finally, Gowtam was impressed the way Rashmika carried MS Subulakshmi’s saree when he visited her home for the audition. Her gajra bun, nose pins and red bindi made her look similar to the legendary singer. This way, Gowtam was satisfied with Rashmika’s appeal and roped her into this prestigious biopic.

Well, Rashmika was also completely happy to essay the role of legendary singer and said, “I feel very proud to speak in front of you all. Right now, I have only one feeling in my heart, and that is gratitude. There is a unique divine power in your voice. When listening to it, I genuinely feel like I am sitting in the presence of God. Amma, you chose me to be a small part of your life - for that, I am always grateful, and I always will be. I will definitely give my best, I promise”.

Even Kamal Haasan who gave the first clap for the movie said, “M.S. Amma has been a uniting factor with her music. Not only for the whole of India, especially for the South of India. She has sung in Sanskrit, Hindi, and many other languages at that time. The tension an actor would have felt when acting in a Michael Jackson film - you will have that tension, I know. But there is a good team to help relieve that. They will support you. If you bring that compassion in your eyes, you have won half the battle. You have to do it bravely.”

MS Subbulakshmi’s biopic, ‘M.S - A Legacy On Screen’ is being bankrolled by Allu Aravind, Rockline Venkatesh and Bunny Vas under the Geetha Arts, Rockline Entertainments and Bunny Vas Works banner. It has young music sensation Anirudh Ravichandar as the music director. Further details of the cast and crew will be unveiled soon.
