The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday launched a month-long nationwide campaign, ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service.

The campaign began on September 17, which also marks Modi’s 76th birthday, and will continue until October 17.

The BJP had earlier said that Modi will be celebrating 25 years in public life on October 7. He has been serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in an elected office since he took oath on 7th October 2001.

BJP National president Nitin Nabin had announced the campaign during a press conference held at the party headquarters on 09th September.

Nabin said Modi’s public service journey began with his appointment as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001 and has continued over the past 25 years.

The campaign is aimed at exposing and extolling Modi's work in public service, development and nation-building, the BJP said.

The Prime Minister's birthday is traditionally celebrated as ‘Seva Diwas' (Day of service) by the party. This will be continued in the extended campaign with programmes throughout the country.

As part of the initiative, the BJP is expected to organise a range of public outreach and service-oriented activities during the month-long period.

Nabin is scheduled to formally launch the campaign from Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, accompanied by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal.

The BJP has called upon its workers and members of the public to participate in the campaign and help take the message of public service to a wider section of society.

The party said the initiative would focus on presenting Modi’s 25-year public journey as a period centred on service to people and the nation.

September 17 is Modi's 76th birthday and October 7 will be 25 years since he was appointed Gujarat Chief Minister.

The BJP has connected the two events with the month-long campaign which will end on October 17.

The programmes being organised in Seva Sankalp Abhiyan are expected to be held at various locations in the country, with an emphasis on public service and engagement.

Always love to raise the unraised matter. In a world of worries, I am always ready to come over my comfort zone and taking the step ahead of spreading awareness.
