After a string of failures in Telugu cinema, we are witnessing a wave of back-to-back successes in the Telugu film industry. The month of July and August has been a treat for movie buffs as we received a host of good films. Now, the talk about the postponement of upcoming films has started again.
Actor Nagarjuna, while speaking at an event, questioned Tollywood filmmakers about when they would learn a lesson about the release of films, after witnessing how Hollywood did it with Christopher Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey.
“Well, The Odyssey announces the date of release a year before and it releases on time. If The Odyssey can do this, then why can’t we do this?” said Nagarjuna. He further added that he also faced the same issue with his own film Lenin, as the film’s date of release had to be postponed as the post-production work was not completed on time.
“Filmmakers should give time for the post-production team to complete the work. They should not work till the last moment,” he added.
It is a pertinent reminder for Nagarjuna as many of the big-budget films like AK47, The Paradise, Fauzi, and Vishwambhara are currently facing issues regarding their release. While Naga Vamsi assured the fans that his film AK47 will hit the screens on October 2nd, it is yet to be seen whether the film will be completed on time.
It is a confusing time for the fans as they are now speculating about which film will open during the 2027 Sankranthi race. With several films already eyeing early 2027, a single postponement announcement can lead to a chain of other films also postponing their releases. For a Telugu film industry that is enjoying a winning streak, it is important to not only announce their film’s release but ensure that it is completed on time.
