NATS takes up welfare activities in AP
NATS has taken up community welfare initiatives focussing on persons with disabilities, rehabilitation and livelihood support. NATS Chairman Kishore Kancherla, President Raj Allada and New Jersey Chapter Coordinator Sai Gangula interacted with special children at the Hrudayalayam Special School and Rehabilitation Centre in Nidadavolu during their recent visit to Andhra Pradesh.
The NATS members visited the Hrudayalayam center on September 20 and inaugurated the first floor Vocational Training Centre and interacted with the special children. The delegation also went through the rehabilitation, bridge course and physiotherapy services at the centre. The members distributed sweets to the children.
The vocational training centre was started by Hope4Spandana with the help of NRIs and inaugurated on August 27, 2026. NATS has contributed $10,000 for constructing the new building. The organisation is determined to do more for the differently abled people, especially those in the remote and tribal areas.
NATS has undertaken a number of welfare activities as part of its efforts to create livelihood opportunities for the differently abled persons. The organisation has given each of the two grocery shops, Rs 1.30 lakh taken on rent for persons with disabilities.
The shops have been given to Gopi of Torredu (Shop No:162) and Devadasu Chinababu of Venkatanagar (Shop No: 161). Kishore Kancherla, Raj Allada and Sai Gangula inaugurated the shops.
NATS is also supporting Hope4Spandana’s monthly medical-kit programme for the people confined to wheel chairs or bedridden following spinal injury. Raj Allada inspected the contents of the kit that includes 13 items such as urinal bags, diapers, catheters, cotton rolls, Betadine, Dettol and gloves during his recent visit to Hyderabad. The organisation has also taken up permanent shelter homes at Ashraya Anadha Ashram in Anantapur and Matru Devo Bhava Anadha Ashram in Nadergul, Hyderabad.
The welfare activities have been taken up by Dr. Raghu Arikapudi, Hope4Spandana Andhra-Telangana coordinator. Dr. Ganesh Babu, Dr. Balagam Visalakshmi and Dayyala Mahesh also assisted in the social service activities.
NATS leaders thanked the NRIs for their support and said that they will continue to do more for community and disability welfare in the State and Telangana.
