Hyderabad: The symptoms of novel Corona Virus has taken a down-step from chest to belly. The Union Health Minister expanded the list of symptoms of novel coronavirus and included diarrhoea, sore throat and fatigue to the list in the month of June. Now, the doctors are facing new symptoms in fresh cases which is creating the delay in treatment of people with these new symptoms.

According to the sources, doctors at Chest and King Koti hospitals in Hyderabad said, "The new symptoms like severe diarrhoea, headache and vomiting are delaying the process of diagnosis and treatment." They added that the new symptoms have provoked the need to step-up the treatment and test those people who are suffering with these symptoms and not just the common ones. They also said, "The common symptoms like cough, fever and breathlessness are not being noted in patients as earlier, while new symptoms are creating some confusion."

Speaking on this, a senior doctor said, "These cases are presented as caused due to food-poisoning and seasonal change leading to stomach upset. But it is the virus which is attacking gastro-intestinal track first instead of lungs. It is presented in the form of severe diarrhoea and vomiting causing dehydration. This, in turn leads to weakness, lower oxygen level, low BP, low sugar and even collapse."Some of the doctors have also pointed out that the novel coronavirus is changing its genomic structure according to the season to ensure its survival.

As per the reports, there are 67 cases reported in those two hospitals in 10 days (from June 20 to June 30) in which 30 deaths were caused having these new symptoms. These patients deceased within a few hours after their admission to the hospital.
