18 returnable plots allotted to Amaravati farmers

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) allotted 18 returnable plots to farmers from Penumaka who had given their lands for the construction of the capital city of Amaravati, through an e-lottery at the APCRDA office at Rayapudi on Friday.

The alternative plots were allotted to eligible farmers who had recently given their lands for the capital and to those who had earlier received plots but faced issues such as road alignment, court cases or plots falling in areas where land acquisition was required.

The e-lottery was conducted in the presence of the farmers. A trial run was first conducted for residential and commercial plots through an online random system, followed by the live lottery process.

A total of 18 plots were allotted to 17 farmers, comprising eight residential plots and 10 commercial plots. APCRDA Additional Commissioner Kollabattula Karthik, along with other officials, handed over provisional certificates to the farmers who received the returnable plots. Karthik, who supervised the programme, urged the beneficiaries to complete the registration process at the earliest. He said GIS personnel and village surveyors would assist the farmers in identifying the exact geographical locations of the plots allotted to them. Director, Lands (Capital City), KS Bhagyarekha, Special Deputy Collector K Sudharani and officials from the Planning, Lands and Communications departments attended the programme.
