Amaravati: Padma Shri awardee and renowned actor Brahmanandam has emphasised that literature remains a timeless expression of human emotions, preserving cultural heritage, life experiences and the wisdom of generations, even as technology continues to transform society.
Addressing the valedictory session of the Amaravati Literature Festival (ALF) 2026 at SRM University–AP, he described literature as a beautiful medium for expressing feelings and understanding human relationships.
Drawing on Telugu literary traditions, Brahmanandam referred to celebrated poets Vemana, Srirangam Srinivasa Rao (Sri Sri) and Dhurjati highlighting the continuing relevance of their works.
SRM University–AP Vice-Chancellor Prof Ch Satish Kumar said the festival brought literature closer to young minds and encouraged engagement with diverse ideas and cultures. He noted that Brahmanandam’s participation made the second edition particularly memorable. Prof Vishnupad, Dean of the Easwari School of Liberal Arts; Dr Sayantan Thakur, Head of the Department of Literature and Languages; and Dr Argha Basu, Convener of ALF 2026, said the festival promoted meaningful dialogue among writers, scholars and readers.
Held from October 7 to 9 under the theme “Stories for a Changing World,” the festival featured author Roopa Pai, graphic storyteller Samhita Arni, science journalist Dinesh C Sharma, book influencer Suruchi Garg and literary content creator Amit Bharti. A student quiz competition, Prahelika, also encouraged intellectual engagement.
