Shiraz Mehdi alleges small films are being supressed in Tollywood
Actor and filmmaker Shiraz Mehdi accused the producers of Telugu film industry for not giving enough platform to the small movies. He spoke up at a media conference held at Somajiguda Press Club in Hyderabad.
While talking about his own film ‘O AndalaRakshasi’, which he produced and starred, Shiraz Mehdi accused that the film was not given enough platform despite efforts taken to promote it. He said that big budget films are given preference over small films.
The filmmaker also alleged against allotment problem of theatre for small producers. He said that small budget producers are being forced to bear the expenses of Qube and UFO projection.
Shiraz Mehdi criticized Film Chamber and accused them for withdrawing the security of theatres given by Multiplexes. He also alleged that legal cases are being filed against him.
Despite threats, Shiraz Mehdi said that he will continue to fight for the rights of small productions. He also appealed to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene in the matter. Further, the filmmaker announced the re-release of his film ‘O AndalaRakshasi’.
