Bengaluru: Four delivery workers arrived at the government residence of Legislative Council Opposition Leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy after knives were booked on the Blinkit app. Police prevented the workers from entering the premises and directed them to leave.

The booking came shortly after Narayanaswamy’s statement that Congress would be cut into pieces and thrown into the sea. Congress workers had earlier reportedly attempted to surround his house.

Following the delivery attempt, police presence was raised at 7, Ministers Quarters. Narayanaswamy responded by saying goonda culture had long been visible in the state and that the incident offered living proof that the culture remained active. He recalled his earlier warning that anarchy would lead to Congress being cut into pieces and discarded, adding that the party already stood fragmented.

He stated that knives and daggers were ordered on Blinkit and sent toward his home, asserting that the country already knew which side practised knife-dagger culture. Narayanaswamy noted that the culture continued inside Congress and observed that the senders could have paid for the items, which might at least have served for cutting vegetables.

He identified two NSUI youths as those who urged the delivery forward. Declaring that he and his associates feared neither knives nor daggers and that true Ambedkar blood ran in them, he invited the senders to dispatch as many such items as they wished. He said he would frame the knives and place them at his doorway labelled as a Congress gift. Orders had been placed under the name Vinay Kumar N and from roughly twenty different numbers; knives were also booked in the name of his personal assistant Mallappa. Multiple Blinkit calls continued to reach him.

Addressing Congress workers, he said he still spoke of them with respect and urged them to abandon knife-dagger politics. Those who failed to understand, he added, would be made to understand by the people. He questioned how individuals lacking even the means to pay for the orders could still attempt to send them.
