Mangaluru man goes missing in Israel, family seeks urgent help

Mangaluru: A 40-year-old man from Mangaluru who travelled to Israel for employment has gone missing after a video call with his family was abruptly disconnected on October 16, leaving his relatives deeply concerned about his safety.

Shedreck Immanuel, a resident of Karmik Colony in Shaktinagar, was speaking to his family over a video call on Friday night when the connection suddenly broke. His mobile phone became unreachable soon afterwards. His family members tried contacting him repeatedly the following day but failed to get through. According to his relatives, he would usually call home every morning and evening, making his sudden disappearance particularly worrying.

The family subsequently contacted his roommate in Israel, who reportedly said Immanuel had neither gone to work nor returned to his room. His whereabouts remain unknown.

“We spoke to him every morning and evening. The call disconnected while we were talking on Friday night. On Saturday, I called him nearly 50 times, but his phone was unreachable. He had no personal problems. We have approached our local MP and the Police Commissioner for help. Please do whatever is necessary to find my son,” a family member said. Immanuel is survived by his wife, Daiji, and their two young children.

His elder sister, Savita, has also contacted friends in Israel and requested their assistance in locating him. Mangaluru MP Brijesh Chowta said a complaint had been submitted to the Israeli Embassy.

He added that efforts were under way to trace Immanuel and expressed confidence that he would be found soon.

The family has appealed for assistance as it awaits information about his whereabouts.
