Bengaluru: Renaissance Solar and Electronic Materials (RSOLEC), an India-US solar and semiconductor materials company, has expressed interest in investing Rs 5,000 crore in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district, Industries Minister M B Patil said on Thursday. The proposed investment, announced at Invest Karnataka 2025, is planned in the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC) region, he said after meeting RSOLEC Chairman and CEO Milind S Kulkarni at Khanija Bhavan here.
According to the minister, the company has sought 100 acres of land in the CBIC region to establish a 5 GW solar ingot and wafer manufacturing facility. “A final decision will be taken after discussions on the company’s other requirements,” Patil said, according to his office. RSOLEC, headquartered in Chennai, has established a presence in the solar sector, particularly in single-crystal silicon growth and wafer manufacturing, he said.
