Bengaluru;: SeKondBrain has opened public beta access to Kemory in India, offering users a free, independent and permissioned memory layer designed to carry their knowledge and context across different AI tools and models.

The company said Indian users’ context will be held on Indian soil, positioning Kemory as a “For India From India” offering. Unlike AI assistants that retain memory within individual platforms, Kemory is designed to operate independently of any single AI model.

The free edition includes Kora for Chrome to import existing AI history, connections to two AI systems, up to 2,000 memories and chats, and fair-use credits. Beta users can also receive additional memory capacity through referrals.

“India is not a follow-on market for Kemory. It is the market,” Duggal said, arguing that users’ existing knowledge and context often remain locked into other AI platforms, creating a “cold start” problem for new models.

Kemory allows users to control access to their information. Users can see what is being shared and withdraw access, while the platform also allows knowledge to be inspected, exported, shared or deleted.

The company said Kemory can be read from and written to by AI models, agents and tools. In its internal testing on the LongMemEval-500 benchmark, Kemory scored 89%, according to SeKondBrain.

The company plans to introduce a Community Edition under an Apache 2.0 open-source licence with self-hosting support. A Business Edition is also planned for organisations requiring permissioning, knowledge retention and tracking at scale.
