Chennai : Three men have been arrested for illegally entering the mortuary at Government Stanley Hospital and filming videos of dead bodies to create content for social media reels. According to police, Sathishkumar (25) and Dheena, alias Dineshkumar (30), both residents of Vyasarpadi, visited the hospital on Thursday to view the body of their associate, Anand, a known history-sheeter from Ernavur.

Dheena is affiliated with the TVK party, police added. To gain access to the restricted area, the duo allegedly paid Rs 200 to mortuary worker Srinivasan through Vyasarpadi Shankar, a battery-operated vehicle driver at the hospital, to procure the mortuary key.

Hospital staff spotted the men recording inside the facility and immediately alerted the medical officers. Accordingly, following a formal complaint lodged by Dr Malar with the hospital police outpost, law, the police arrested Sathishkumar, Dheena, and Shankar. The three accused were presented before a magistrate court on the same day, where they were granted bail.
