Gujarat: 11 families get property papers after police mediate dispute between developers, landowner
Gandhinagar: Eleven families who had paid the full amount for houses in the 'Meem City' residential project in Palaswada village of Dabhoi taluka in Vadodara district have finally received their property documents and house keys following police mediation to resolve a long-standing dispute between the landowner and developers.
The houses, collectively valued at around Rs 2.75 crore, had remained without legal property documents despite the applicants having paid the entire agreed amount.
The dispute between the original landowner and the developers had prevented the buyers from obtaining the documents for their homes.
The applicants subsequently approached the Superintendent of Police, Vadodara Rural, with a detailed representation seeking intervention.
Taking up their grievances, the SP directed prompt action, following which Dabhoi Police initiated an investigation under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dabhoi Division.
As part of the intervention under the police initiative 'Tera Tujhko Arpan', the police established contact with both the original landowner and the developers, took them into confidence and organised meetings to facilitate an amicable settlement.
The efforts resulted in the resolution of the dispute and the preparation of legal property documents for all 11 houses.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi handed over the property documents and house keys to the beneficiaries at a programme in Gandhinagar on Wednesday.
The beneficiaries included Mumtazbanu Rafiqbhai Vohra, Imrankhan Mahoyuddin Ansari, Nisar Ahmed Mohiuddin Barmare, Nazneen Nisar Ahmed Barmare, Samirmehdi Dilawarbhai Bandwala, Pehelwan Hasna Nadeali, Rukhsana Dilawar Sheikh, Wasifkhan Anisul Hasan Pathan, Murshid Irfan Siddiqui, Tanzila Aliasgar Bhaisaheb, Sarsanwala Burhan Hussain and Mohammad Hamidullah Mohammad Waliullah.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Gujarat Police, the state government and the Deputy Chief Minister for intervening in the private dispute and helping them secure the legal documents for their homes.
The initiative involved police mediation between the two parties rather than leaving the homebuyers to pursue the unresolved dispute on their own.
