Guntur: District Collector CM Saikanth Varma assured that steps would be taken in phases to develop infrastructure in Autonagar at a cost of Rs 30 crore, adding that proposals had been prepared for this purpose.
He along with Guntur East MLA Md Naseer Ahmed visited Autonagar in Guntur city on Saturday and interacted with locals and inquired about their problems. They examined sanitation and condition of roads and other infrastructure.
Speaking on this occasion, Saikanth Varma said the need for sanitation works and road construction had been identified. He added that the authorities were exploring the possibilities of shifting accumulated scrap material to another location. They would also assess the feasibility of regularly removing unnecessary equipment and materials dumped on the roads.
He said the objective is to develop Autonagar into a well-equipped industrial area in Guntur city to meet the needs of all stakeholders, hoping that this would create more employment opportunities.
