Plea to avail postal ballots
Guntur: Guntur Municipal Corporation commissioner and Additional Election Authority K Mayur Ashok informed that 367 employees engaged in election duties for the ongoing local body elections in Guntur city had exercised their right to vote through postal ballots. He said that postal ballot voting facilities had been provided at AC College in Guntur on October 27 and 28, from 10 am to 5 pm, to ensure that employees engaged in election duties should not lose their right to vote.
He informed that 350 staff members had been deployed to manage the postal ballot process and that dedicated counters were set up at the facilitation centre for this purpose.
He said that employees assigned election duties on polling day could also exercise their franchise through postal ballots on Wednesday between 10 am and 5 pm.
He further stated that special compartments have been arranged to ensure complete secrecy during voting.
Videography and help desk facilities would also be available at the centre. He said gazetted officers would be present to attest the required documents.
